In 1983, our firm was founded by Carlos Balbontín and Gonzalo Linazasoro, who had met at the University of Chile and worked together in a prominent firm in the city of Santiago.

In 1993, constitutional lawyer Jorge Correa Sutil joined the firm to expand our areas of practice to Constitutional, Administrative, and Arbitration Law.

Over the course of 20 years, the firm established itself as one of the most important legal practices in the country, with Carlos Balbontín leading the Criminal Law department, Gonzalo Linazasoro leading the Civil Law department, and Jorge Correa Sutil leading the Constitutional Law department.

In 2006, lawyers Waldo Bown and Carolina Obreque joined the firm as partners, significantly strengthening our Criminal Law department and expanding it to include Compliance advisory services.

Since 2021, our firm has been known as Balbontín, Correa, Bown Abogados.

In its 40 years of existence, our firm has become a benchmark for the legal profession.
